In The Attic

-some people have been reading my blog! Last night me and Giles played a couple of songs and had a bit of a chat on WHO TV's 'In The Attic' This is a ("mental") show presented by Rachel Fuller and Mikey Cuthbert, where guests come on, play some songs and talk about what they're up to, answer a few questions etc. It's all very relaxed and light hearted. Very enjoyable to watch and even better to be involved in. Last night's other guests were: Joseph, Simon and Pete Townshend. A family affair. There was a pyjama theme. I don't wear pyjamas or have any night wear for that matter, so I borrowed a dressing gown off my brother.

We played 'New Way' and 'Beauty'. Both songs are on our new EP that we shamelessly plugged. BUY OUR EP! GO TO WWW.THEVIBRANTS.COM/MUSIC AND CLICK BUY NOW!

I can't really remember much about what we spoke about on the show. Except: Giles going on about how he'd been dumped, Me having dreams about my teeth falling out (I'm insecure you know!) and Me thinking that Giles was the class room bully when we were at school. How first impressions can be deceiving.

Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. The highlights for me were Mikey singing "Come on Ryan", Rachel's fashion section, Simon singing "Time The Healer" and Pete's stories. We'd like to do the show again sometime and play a couple of different tracks and talk about something else than dreaming about teeth falling out.

I think the show is on loop today on WHO TV! So check it out!

Hi,
Thanks for stopping by.
You boys were Fab last night.
How wonderful that Pete and Rachel are so cool. I think Pete would like to make sure that the really talented souls in this world do not go unnoticed.
It's also great to know that Simon is producing your band. I'd say you are up to a stellar start.
Cyberspace is a great way to introduce your band. Clever people Pete Townshend and Rachel Fuller are.
There are plenty of us here in the blogesphere. F**k target markets and demographics. Bring the music to the people!

Hey there Sam, thanks for the kind words. I hope to see you in the attic soon. You guys are awesome. I will save some money, and I hope to buy your album soon. You must understand, I am saving up for recording equipment and a new guitar. The neck on my guitar is folding up because of a faulty truss rod. I am up to about 430 dollars, almost 1/3 of the way to $1,500. Give me a shout.

Thanks Sam, my thoughts exactly, will keep him at arms length.

KCRW play some really cool music, as I'm sure you've heard FM radio in America is in sorry shape, and many are turning to alternative formats like National Public Ratio (KCRW type stations) and college radio, and new formats like what Rachel is doing. Since those webcasts started I've purchased 3 CD's all connected in some way to Rachel & Mikey.

I know if you send your CD to Nic, he would definitely listen to it. I also thought KLOS would be a great fit also, they have an un-signed bands series and you guys blow away anything I've heard on that show. The morning DJ's are Mark & Brian and they host the unsigned artist series. It would have to coincide with a visit here though. I bet we'll see you touring America very soon based on what I'm hearing. I just played your samples to a co-worker and she was amazed.

Nice to correspond with you.

So Sam, I just read your post to LZYGRL about how the In The Attic appearance came about and how you came to record with Simon at Pete's studios, amazing.

I've heard that Pete is real down to earth, real easy going. I've always wanted to meet him. When I was 8 I heard The Who and immediately wanted to play guitar. He remains someone who has a big impact on my life. When I lost my hearing, I saw him with his own hearing challenges and how he never lets it stop him from making music. Such an inspiration he is to thousands, particularly the deaf and hearing impaired.

Wear earplugs Sam, take care of your hearing. Once it's gone, it doesn't come back. Wow, so many connections happening on the blogs.

Hey There,
It was so cool that Pete and Rachel introduced you to us on Who TV! Will you be coming to the the States in the near future? I was one of the lucky ones that got to hang out with The Who back in the day. Besides loving their music, I fell in love with their sense of humor and down to earth personalities. You can check out my Homepage link on my blog to see some cool Who stuff. Is your music available on iTunes?
